Click a Button, Find a Grant, Now a Reality

Your wish came true! In a recent blog post, we told you about a bill passed by the California legislature that would allow nonprofits to click a button to find all state grants for which it may be eligible. As we and others suggested, thousands of Californians contacted Governor Brown and signed petitions to ask that he sign the bill, AB 2252. On September 10, 2018, Governor Brown did just that!

AB 2252, which enacted the Grant Information Act of 2018, ensures the listing of all California governmental agency grants on a searchable, single centralized website. Each listing will include information about grant criteria and eligibility. The Act also allows nonprofits to apply for any state grant online. These features will be available to nonprofits no later than July 1, 2020.
