IRS Suspends Exempt Orgs Head

May 23, 2013 Posted by Jessica Shofler in Jobs, News

Yesterday Lois Lerner, the head of the IRS division on exempt organizations, refused to answer questions at a congressional hearing. Today the IRS put her on an indefinite administrative leave. This comes in response to the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations demanding her immediate suspension.

Right now it’s not clear whether the suspension will lead to dismissal (Ken Corbin will serve as the acting director of the  division as this gets sorted out ). But we do know that it will likely mean a complete slow down on all processes as the dust settles.
