Updated IRS Charitable Contributions Guide

The IRS has released an updated version of its Publication 526, which explains how to claim a charitable deduction on 2010 tax returns. It includes important information for charitable organizations, as well. It’s free to download at www.irs.gov.

Too often we at The Law Firm for Non-Profits hear of non-profit organizations that fail to meet their donor’s expectations, or that provide incorrect information regarding the deductibility of donations. Charities should keep Publication 526 at hand to help ensure they do provide the accurate and complete information their donors need and want.
